Registry Hack Question

Salutations to all taking the time to read this post!

A friend of mine recently received a free copy of Windows XP PRO upgrade from the University’s IT program at school. When he installs apps they show the school’s name in the either the owners area or business name. Where in the registry would he go to change this information? The school’s name does not appear anywhere in the System Information – System Summary page.

ahhh...hacking the registry, one of my fave topics.

the info is under:
hklm\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion

however, note that many windows installer packages capture the this information and stores it in values such as RegOwner and RegCompany...you may want to search & replace those instances as well.
