Powerdolls. Old but still available.
The Y's Eternal series. RPG.
Everything the Japanese seem to be interested in over here, are RPGs and turn-based strategy. There isn't a big influx of games for the PC, as they're not all that popular... The only people that have comps over here, from what it looks like, are business people that use em' for the job. So mobility is key. The more mobile, the smaller, and less options the computer has. So likewise, computer games over here are far and few between, with prices, and this is a quote... "Microsoft Flight Sim 04', $130." No crap.
PC gaming in Japan is almost a no go... If you get my meaning.
Instead, it's the other way around, and they import most of the games. Kinda' funny.

There are a few 'anime inspired' (mostly cell shaded) games around here. The only one I can even remotely recomend is Oni, which is pretty good. And lindstrom is right, the Japanese don't produce many computer games besides those of the raunchy variety. I'm wiling to bet you can find a whole heck of alot of Korean games though.

I am not sure if Final Fantasy XI qualifies for what your asking but its Japanese created and the player base is mostly Japanese. It is an online game that has been available in Japan for nearly 2 years on PC and Ps2. It became availablle in the U.S. last November for the PC and the U.S. Ps2 version is just now coming out.
I have been playing this game since U.S, release. I believe the player base has surpassed any game to date.
The graphics are great and lag is almost non existant. I have played many online games and this one has little to no bugs on any given day. Japan and U.S. play together with a pretty nice translator built in for basic communication.

The FFXI translator isn't perfect, and the mistakes it makes are good for a lough
It's generally a good game (my friend has it), but I do not reccomend it due to it's monthly fee. I never reccomend a game with a monthly fee.

If you're talking about an anime inspired game, give Shogo: Mobile Armor Division a try. It is an old game made by Monolith, I think it's still avaliable for sale....not sure tho. It was alot of fun.......
