Refilling Printer cartridges

Has anyone used this or silimlar refill kits that are close to this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=32785
My black one ran out of ink. Kinda expensive to replace. Do theses kits really do what they say or would it be a waste of $.
Need someones opinion who has used this method before. Thanks.

I didn't follow your eBay link.. I have seen many of those.

Yes, they can work... I have used them for a long time with a Lexmark printer.

If you let a Lexmark printer cartridge run dry, you will damage the print head..which is a part of the cartridge, and the ink flowing over the head keeps it cool...using the cartridge after the ink is gone will burn the print head. Other machines may not work like this...so, about all you can do is buy some ink and try it...do not overfill..it will make a mess.

Get good quality ink..not the cheapest you can find at eBay.

There is a difference among ink pigments. But refill ink may be superior to or inferior to OEM ink. But even if "inferior," it may suffice for what you are doing. A difference might be dry time.

It is important that you get pigments, especially color, that are specific to your printer. They are not the same. If you don't, you are going to wind up with peculiar new color schemes in you print outs.

Refilling can get messy. It may take a few tries to get the hang of it neatly. I do it over the kitchen sink. I have a special tray for cleaning the syringe. Actually, it's the George Foreman drip tray! I squirt it way from the disposal. My luck would have the tip come flying off.

Newspapers and kitchen sink. Don't do it over a rug. I use a piece of tape to put the "lid" back on the cartridge.
