Kids Maxtor 120GB SATA

Maxtor 120GB U150 7200 8MB SATA
A7N8X-E Motherboard
Windows XP

Do I have to run this in a RAID configureation, or can I use it as a stand alone HD?
If I can't use it as a stand alone wich config. would be best?
Raid 0
Raid 1

.....But if you ran two or more in RAID 0 it would be faster, albeit with a higher chance of data loss.
