Outlook Sending Error (very weird)

Hello all,

I've been getting this send/receive error for months now, and it's finally driven me to the point of trying to figure out what it's all about:

Quote:
Task 'chris@implexantsystems.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 550 Address "" appears to be invalid'
As you can see, Outlook is trying to send a message to nowhere, which of course is rejected by my server. Thing is, there is nothing in my outbox. Period. Nothing. At all.

Any ideas?

TIA.

-Chris

The easiest way to figure out the problem is to look on your host''s support website, or give them a call...

they should tell exactly how to configure Outlook.

Are you using the SMTP server infor provided by "your" isp? Or are you maybe trying to use your home smtp account info from your office or while on another isp?

I run my own server, using SMTP/POP3. I guess I could give myself a call... and this is def. a Outlook problem. Server runs great for 50 other people.

Have you tried configuring your machine as someone else with an account on that server?

Have you tried configuring your account on someone else's machine that is working?

I actually have ~ 15 POP3 email accounts for that server configured. I'm only having the trouble with one. It's chris @ implexantsystems.com. Kinda weird eh?

Also thought I might mention that I noticed the problem after I had approved a return receipt for a message someone had sent me.

But do you still have this problem with that one account if you configure it on a different computer?

You sound really confident that it's a client side problem - it would be good to rule out a server side account problem out before persueing a solution from Outlook. (And yes, I agree it's likely an Outlook problem but it's really easy to double check.)
