File Permissions Windows XP Home network

ok here's the deal...

I have a toshiba laptop and i copied a folder over to it from my home network (windows 2000 server) which contained a bunch of word perfect documents. I went home, worked on the documents on my laptop and now when i got back to work I cannot open the documents from any of my computers on the network. I enabled sharnig on my laptop (windows XP Home) but when i try to access it from another computer (windows 2000) It says that the file is in use. and when I change the attribute on the file on the laptop it automatically changed it back to read only.

Can someone tell me how to get my work computers accessing documents that are on my laptop?

This only happens to documents I worked on at home over the weekend. Documents that I didn;t touch were not harmed.

I think you have to change the ownership of the file locally
