Systems Please help me!! I can't understand this error code...

Hello all,

I would be so greatful if someone could tell me what this memory dump blue screen error code means...

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Tech Info:
STOP 0x09A09146, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xf6C566BC

TCPIP.SYS - Address F6C566BC Base at F6C49000, DATESTAMP 3D6DE222

My computer shuts down with no warning. I never get a blue screen until now. I am rumming XP and i can check the system errors but i don't understand them. So i was about to buy a new 450 acus power supply but i thought i would ask you all for help first.

This is the Windows XP system error i get all the time:

Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 80042000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.

If you could also tell me what this is - again - i would be greatful!

In all honesty look to software before hardware, with RAM being an exception here. But with RAM, just run memtest software to make sure it is working well. Then you might want to check updates, drivers, and if all else fails reinstall.

If that does not help you can start looking into hardware and shelling out the $$ for it.

what have you done so far before the problem occured? try to restore your system to a previous configuration.. use xp system restore.

you dont get any BSOD because your system is set to automatically reboot when it detects an error.

...

i do have sp1 thank you for your suggestion. i do not have the option to "restart if there is an error" checked.

when i first built the computer i had a similar problem but then when i was going to troubleshoot it my hard drive began to click and failed. So i bought another one and i reinstalled everything... Then on the new system it happended again.

I would do the software trial and error but i don't know where to start and i was hopping that the blue screen error could tell me something - like what driver it is.

Does anyone know how to read the blue screen error?

Silly question:TCPIP.SYS is not the driver that's giving me problems right?
