GeForce4 problems
I've recently got a Mad Dog Prowler MX 440-se GeForce4 graphics accelerator, and i cant figure out how to get it to work on my computer. I've got the onboard video disabled, because it quit working correctly a while ago, and I put an old cirrus logic card in my computer. Now I have the new card, and i cant get it to work. I can get it in and the drivers installed, but i have to have the other card in whilst i do it, and then when i reboot my computer, i have to leave the old card in, or teh computer wont boot back up. At startup, my computer just beeps alot, and no signal is sent to the monitor. And also, since I have been messing with this, i cant display any more thatn 16 colors at 800x600 even with the old one. Can anyone help me?

How about a few more specs on your system. Such as motherboard, CPU, OS, power supply wattage, etc., so that we may help you better |

Is the GF4 MX440 an AGP or PCI card? |

First off, make sure that thing is FULLY seated in the PCI slot. Sometimes it takes quiet a bit of force to get it in. Some PCChips mobo's have a jumper that will disable the onboard video. Check your manual for it's location. Judging from the age of your system, you may need to get a more powerfull power supply being that the GF4's are power hogs. |

Look in "Add/Remove programs" for the previous card's drivers. Other than that, in device manager, remove the Cirrus Logic card if it is still listed. |

I dont have any drivers listed in the add/remove programs except the geforce drivers, and when i uninstall the cirrus, it doesnt do anything, becaue i have to leave the card in for the computer to boot up, so it just reinstalls as soon as i turn the computer back on.
