Can't open a msn attatchment with wordpad

i got a attatchment from someone i know in hotmail and i can't seem to open it. i get a message saying that wordpad has caused an error in MSWRD832.CNV and then wordpad closes. i can't open it in wordperfect or notepad either. all of my other wordpad files work. what do i do to get it to work?

What kind of atachment is it?

Dont you have to download it first when its hotmail? Since hotmail isnt on your comp but actually on their servers etc

the file is a microsoft word coument...but i do not have microsfot word PERIOD. So now what can I do?

i had a similar problem recently and this is pretyty much how i got round it............but the link explains it much better than i could.

another temporary solution might be to email the doc to a friend with word ask them to open it, paste the contents directly onto an email back to you then you paste the contents of their email into whatever word processing app. you have.
