I can't change my 'Home Page'

I just noticed for some reason I am blocked from changing my Home Page...??? How do I correct this?

you should run the most updated versions of adaware and spybot

I ran spybot... found nothing...

Are you using Pro or Home? Have you got TweakUI or anything like that installed?

If you have Pro, try using "gpedit.msc" and go to . . .

Local Computer Policy
User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
Internet Explorer
In the right-pane, double-click "Disable changing home page settings" and make sure it's "Not Configured"

That should allow you to make changes again.

I have been using Spybot for sometime with no problems. I downloaded the latest Adaware and ran it and it corrected the problem. Not sure what the problem was though. It looked as if it just found a bunch of cookies? Didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

I worked on a computer yesterday due to the fact the the client can't keep his homepage he selected. He was on vacation and his son babysat his house and used his computer for a week. It was a mess. I updated the virus database and installed spybot. Found 12 virus and over 30 spywares. A virii is what kept him from getting his homepage back. I also purged over 30 sex sites from his favorite folder and deleted over 6000 pictures from the internet cache. The client was really dumbfounded.
