That one actually seems to have a few more features.

MSI has a slightly better name I think than ECS

here is the motherboard link from MSIs website. I have no clue what that note in red about memory is trying to say, lol.

Maybe someone can clarify it?

only real down side is they are via chipsets . now there is nothing wrong with them , don't get me wrong , but there don't perform as well as the intel chipsets do . will they work , oh ya they will . but there not quite as good as the intel chipset .

i think , note the word think , they are saying your memory will work at what msi wants you to set the timing at not what the memory manufacture say it should be at . but i am not 100% sure of that so take it with a grain of salt .

The ECS board uses a single-channel RAM layout with the SiS 648 chipset, while that MSI uses a dual-channel layout.

The red paragraph is just a reminder that most of the really high specification DIMMs mostly are supposed to be run at higher voltages than the JEDEC specified 2.5V, and with carefully selected timings. It's there so you remember to read your DIMM's spec sheet and adjust the board's BIOS settings accordingly.

Wish I had know that a year ago. In layman's terms, MSI boards don't like elcheapo or high performance Ram without manually tweaking the settings to match the ram.

Middle of the road stuff works great.
