During start-up i get the blue screen of death and the following error message

What version of windows? Any software or hardware recently installed or removed? Will it start in safe mode?

w2k - froze while printing photos had to preform hard shut down when i re-started the blue screen came up

After doing a little research on that error I believe that the hard shutdown caused corruption of your system files. Your best bet may be to do an inplace install of your OS. Below is a link that will tell you how to do that.
