If you have an nForce2 it unlocks the chip by default. Also, all 2500+'s can run as a 3200+ (1.83Ghz to 2.2Ghz), just up the FSB to 400 and off you go.
Just thought I'd let you know, might save you some effort.

Just thought I'd let you know, might save you some effort. | Not so anymore. Since week 39 or so, they started locking them so theat even the NF2 doesn't unlock it. You can mod it somehow, it's here atTIMO somewhere, but it's not automatically unlockable anymore...
You're right on on the running @ 3200 w/ fsb of 200 though. That's what I'm using right now, with STOCK HS/F |

and not all xp2500 can run at 3200 . most can but saying all will is wrong .

Exactly what Omardeth said. My 2500+ week 0332 brown chip, (locked multiplier, don't remember the exact stepping something like PQEXA) and it can't even OC to 3200+ stable at 1.85v it has to go like 1.95v and I don't like going that high on air cooling since the temps already at 1.65 is at 46*C.

you can overclock pretty much all xp's , now how much u willget in another story . it is a chip by chip basis .
as far as getting an unlocked cpu from newegg , i wouldn't count on it . they sell alot of cpu's so then inventory will be fresh , fresh = newer , newer = locked multiplier
