Gaming LCD suggestions

Hi all,
I am looking for a gaming LCD monitor for around $550 USD. I was going to go with the Hercules 920 pro but the store decided that they wouldn't mention it was going to be discontinued and decided they would cancel my order and couldn't explain why and have it disappear from their website. (Never buy from the Hercules online store) Anyway I was wondering what suggestions people had for a nice gaming LCD with little (preferably no) ghosting up to around 100FPS and displays very nice and crisp. I'm looking 17" but 19" would be nice although thats wishful thinking.

This is the LCD I use for gaming and I really like it. With a 16ms response time I never see any ghosting. I bought mine from NewEgg.com for $400 included shipping but it looks like they have a new version of it now for around the same price.

well it would certainly be nice if you had to move your computer around some (or maybe took it to lan partys).

I second that monitor. I also own it and it looks great on all fast paced games. I found mine for $350 in october on tigerdirect.com but they don't seem to carry this model any more.

Look for 16ms responce time and 400-500:1 contrast ratio. Then you'll def be happy for gaming. Oh and a native res of about 1024x768 for 15-17" size is nice to. Game res you use most- should be TFT's native resolution. So textures dont look SQUASHED.

i also recommend a Viewsonic. Specifically the VP171B. Awesome monitor!

i was the first one to buy when it came out and I`ve never looked back! And now theyjust came out with his older brother: VP201S!! 20.1" at 16ms.

Thats the gaming one that Planar makes. My dad bought some of them, so I got to try them. I tried Prince of Persia. They own. I couldn't notice any ghosting or anything, and the stand they come on is awesome. You can move it up down and tilt it easily.

I think theyre around $400 for a 17 inch.
