That is part of waiting on stock. You have experienced a rather common aspect of online ordering. It doesn't make for a positive customer service experience, as you have found, but occurs often nonetheless. If an item is not in stock, be prepared to wait, and take estimated stock arrival times with a "grain of salt."
On an entirely personal note, unless it was an exceedingly good deal, I would probably requested a refund after waiting a couple of weeks instead of a couple of months.
