I like to see a more convenient way to do this...

Sometimes I lose track of messages I've replied to. And to make sure I don't miss any responses posted after mine I've found myself doing the follow:

Locating any message of mine, hitting "profile" under my message, then hitting "search for all post by this user".

This gives me a list of all the posts I've responded to in order of most recent first. Makes it easy to glance over my most recent posts and see if there have been any replies. But it's certainly not convenient to go through that process just to find my most recent posts.

If the board recognizes me (if my cookies are valid & current) then why couldn't it give me an easier way to see my most recent posts?

My suggestion is this: where it says "Welcome back member name" in the upper right corner...make the member's name also a link that will show the member's posts beginning with the most recent. IOW, make it the same link that's found in the "profile" and "search for all posts by this user".

Wadda think?

Actually I was just thinking of this, this morning
I have the same problem, I had asked about this along time ago on sysopt, but at the time they were still on flat files and it was too difficult... umm now that is not the case

Usually I just go to search and put in my username, but its all the same thing pretty much.

To ease it up on the system, you could also just keep the default to only searching back like 5 days for that button so its not doing a FULL search.

OuT, you don't have to go into your profile to search for your recent posts, just click the button at the bottom of any of your posts.

....or just throw a shortcut to search for all post by this user into one of those custom toolbars you have surrounding your desktop

I also just search for my username. Normally I don't forget what I have replied to within the last week or so.

I was thinking the same thing OuTpaTienT, usually I have to do a search for my posts in order to make sure I dont miss anything.

Fingers, that does not fix the issue. It's still a hassle. What if none of the post I've responed to are anywhere near the top...I still gotta hunt one down to do that.

And what if I don't remember which posts I've responded to, then that doesn't help at all.

You are correct OuT, it's not what you asked for, but it seems like a reasonable solution until that feature is added to the forums, if it ever is?

However, IMHO, not even a link in the TechIMO forums would be as fast as adding a desktop or toolbar shortcut that links directly to the search results for a specific members recent posts.

but that would require us to minimize the browser thus losing track of techimo for a period of time!!!

JUST CAN'T BE DONE!!!
Oh... the pressure

No thanks I'll just make it a bookmark

That works too Jacob, but try right clicking on the following link and add it to your "Favorites" ... I bet you never go to the search page to find your recent posts again...

JacobM's most recent posts at TechIMO
