Post box narrow on Mozilla/Mozilla Firebird browsers.

The textarea in the post and reply boxes are quite narrow using the Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird browsers.

However, the solution is relatively simple to fix:

If you go into the control panel and click to modify a theme, you will see a setting for changing textarea widths. It is at the very bottom, and reads as follows:
Quote:
Textarea Widths
Due to differences in the way that different browsers interpret the cols="xx" attribute for a <textarea> form element, vBulletin will ....
Internet Explorer 4+
Netscape Navigator 4.x
Netscape Navigator 6.0
Simply set the Netscape Navigator 6.0 field exactly the same as the Internet Explorer 4+ field. Then repeat this process for all themes.

Note: The only downside is that there may be some versions of Netscape 6 or 7 that might have extra long text areas after doing this.

Cool! I use Mozilla and Firebird on different PC's, and now you've found a fix for the only complaint I had. Thanks!

I believe he's talking about the Main Admin Control Panel...

The one that Scott has the key to...

Kevin Ar18 is just stating the fix to Scott & Co. so they can take care of this.

Our quick reply feature is hard coded PHP routine outside of the control of the standard vBulletin template process, thus this fix will not directly work for TechIMO.

However, I will have Scott look into the issue. Perhaps a similar method could be applied to our configuration.
