Max 2 photo uploads a day!!!

I'm tired of getting kicked off the front page because someone who has absolutely no concern for others thinks it's ok to upload 15 pictures all at once.

This latest perp has never even posted a single message here! Why is someone like that even allowed to upload photos? Much less 10 all at once?

Hasn't this been an issue for like YEARS now? You guys need to get a handle on this.

seconded.

what just happenned is NOT tolerable. OuT had an excellent pic up, for maybe 3 hours, if that, and many people will never know.

forget the fact that this concord guy has never posted before, forget that he will probably never post, forget that he just need a place to put some pics and TIMO fit the bill, forget that the pics posted by concord were not given any explaination of who, what, where, why, or when, and even forget any idea about we all need to share. THIS is not sharing.

Yeah they will. I deleted it and reuploaded it. I'm smarter than the average bear.

But still, this is an issue that needs to be dealt with.

No need to get this angry Out!

To give you a picture what have happened here:
*i go to the gallery to check the photos
*i see a sign near the "admin" that there is new photos to approve
*i go there to check the photos
*i see Out's photo which i already approved (the problem is related to the caching stuff lately)
*i refresh my browser still no new photos show up
*i approve without checking (blindly)
*after going back and checking i see that i approved a load of photos

See, i don' usually approve mass photos uploads .. i approve some and keep some in the queue so all members have the chance to keep their photos at the front page for a while.

Mistakes happen, we're making our best here, also remember that the site is still unstable and needs a little more effort than it used to be.

What does this issue have to do with mods doing their job? Nothing. I think there's something wrong with the system, not the mods.

I don't understand why 2 photos a day would be so hard to impliment. Should be rather staightforward.

Well only Scott can help with an answer here! if his software can do this automatically or not .. at the moment i'm trying to do this task manually by holding extra photos for the same member in queue.

It doesn't surprise me that you go through this extra effort KK. But is this the policy that all the mods follow or just something you do on your own?

Generally speaking, Ken and I are usually the only people to regularly approve gallery images. To answer your question, I have adopted a similar policy to Ken's, though I have been known to allow image floods as well. It generally depends on how long the current images on the front-page have been there.

As to the PhotoPost question, I have inquired about the possibility of adding an administrative option to set what images appear on the front-page, thus allowing us to limit the number of repeat or similar images that are simultaneously displayed on the front-page.
