NO more war and politics threads
I for one am sick of all these hopeless threads that inhabit the IMO community forum. All they lead to is flame wars, hurt feelings, massive amounts of incorrect information based solely on someone's post which they havent taken the time to make sure the statement is correct. These are an eyesore to the techimo forums! 2 or 3 members seem mostly to blame for the incessant amount of bush bashing, iraq trashing, ect. Of course when they start a thread, immediately others rush to slam them for it or agree with it. I wouldnt mind so much if it was a thread or 2, but when the IMO forum is covered with them thats another thing. Its like someone who likes to nag you over and over until someone finally tells them to quit. I say, QUIT!!!!!

you can do what I do, just don't into the Community Forum - it's not the best solution but I, like you, have no desire to read the 'flames' ...
just my opinion...

coming from someone who greatly enjoys those threads, i say if you don't like them, then don't read them. there are those of us that really enjoy politics (such as myself) and it is very important in our lives. The events that are going on right now are very very important politically, these times are truley making history in US Policymaking and i think it is important to discuss these facts. i understand that politics isn't for everyone, which is fine. I admit i would prefer to see less member insults and flaming (something i try very hard not to do), but in those situations its bound to happen. my advice is to just not read those threads. everyone has community threads they don't read, myself included.

I haven't been in the community for months, for the same reason as you just explained.

That's why I stop going to the community form. In the beginning it was a great place to chit chat and I don't feel that way anymore and I'll leave it at that.

I don't know what you're talking about. Of course, it because I very rarely go into the Community forums, and then it's just because someone PMed a thread to look at.

In reality.. you walk around and you hear people talking about the war etc...
Do you ask them not to talk about it either because you don't like it?
While yes I agree it gets old .. I just ignore them to their rantings *shrug* nobody is going to change anybody's opinion so I just save my blood pressure
However, these are by far not the first posts I've seen relating to "I avoid community because of this... "
Maybe a hot headed forum would be for the best of community
Wouldnt' want to be a mod in there

how about making a seperate section for it? i have seen this at serveral forums and took tension away from the community.
what is comes down is basically the war is old news and people are wanting to move to the next topic
although i dont mind the threads (i usually skim over them) i feel they are important (legit information) to help those who want to under stand the situation.
of course a seperate section is an extreme solution

This probably wouldn't be a good idea on a Tech board, but the mods could implement a polictical section to the forum.
just my $.02
