Extra fields in profile

Now, I know this is probably a silly idea, but would it be possible to add extra fields to the profile such as Linux distro, and system specs? I know not everyone would use these, but it would save posts in the Linux forum from asking "What distro are you running?" or "What's your specs?" and mean we could answer questions faster.

Just an idea anyway.

It sounds like a nice idea. Then people can just link there profile instead of writing there whole PC specs everytime they have a problem.

I'm inclined t agree that a 'system specs' in the profile would be GREAT. Would make it soo much easier, since posting system specs all the time gets old. Of course, there are exceptions, like when you have multiple computers.

This is a very large fourm with many members though. So I'm not suprised if this doesn't work out due to server space.

Why not add it to the interests or occupation fields?

On 1 line?
Some people have many parts in their computers, and besides, those fields are for other stuff, and us commoners get shouted at for "making improper use of profile fields" :|

yeah I have 3 machines and it would use a lot of space if everyone did it, and we all upgrade so it would have to be updated a lot

copy/ paste, from note pad or a text editor, thats what I do so when I want to post my machines specs I just open it and wha-la
