Mods please read: Attached image problem (Mozilla)

http://www.techimo.com/forum/showthr...868#post662868

this is messing up viewing attached images in recent versions of Mozilla

I believe it is partly a forum problem and it'd be great if it was fixed

(recap: need to remove the 'atachment; ' bit from the Content-disposition HTTP headers e.g.
"Content-disposition: atachment; filename=picture.jpg" to "Content-disposition: filename=picture.jpg")

Thanks

Still no response....

Well, anywho...

...since the attachments are requesting a confirmation every single time we click on them I must say it's turning out to be a rather annoying issue (it's annoying me at least). So I'll tell you other Mozilla users what I've done. I just gone back to using Mozilla version 1.2.1. It doesn't have this issue with the attachments. They open in a new browser window just like what IE does. Even though technically that's incorrect behavior, it is what we want it to do, so....wth.

Actually I emailed Scott yesterday with the link and asked him to look at it and follow the link in the post. Guess I was too preoccupied with the wedding to mention that... sorry.

Thanks for bringing this up. I too use mozilla, and I'm using the nightlys for it. So, it'd be great if it's something they could fix, instead of me going back in time(browser-wise)... I'll be waiting to hear the outcome of this issue!

Thanks!

David

As with surreal, I forwarded an error report on the 14th. Hopefully we will hear something in the near future. If not, never fear, I will forward it again.

Strange they would have the same misspelling error. Is that misspelling from the board software?

Right, I'm starting to understand this.

Here's a link on the vBulletin support board: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...055#post199055

But here is a BugZilla bug on the issue: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=185618#c11

We didn't support content-disposition:attachment very well back then.

That's vbulletin. They're purposefully sending a content-disposition header
that is malformed in such a way that IE treats it as "inline" and any browser
that follows the spec treats it as "attachment". Their newest version is fixed
to just use "inline"; I suggest you contact the forum operator and ask him to
upgrade.

None of which affects this bug, of course. We all agree this needs fixing.
Want to do it? I can point you to the code...

ya, but 'upgrading' vbulletin as mentioned previously would be a very big undertaking due to all the hacks.. maybe there's an easier solution?
