Just an idea....

How about a forum specially for people who "Build Your Own Computer"?

I know that other forums have covered this info, but it might be interesting to follow a single thread (they may be there, but I didn't find it, yet) from a person with a blank desk, deciding on specs/goals, looking/pricing/ordering parts, installing, then the whole thing working like a dream......

I think this would be a pretty interesting forum.....

then again, maybe just a daydream or another usless use of brainial synapses feeding on too many Louisiana Shrimp.....lol

Not really. Most of the posts on this topic seem to come from first-time builders who want to use (relatively) standard parts and aren't yet ready for intense Dremeling; the questions tend to be about how to get the HDD activity light to come on, and how not to short out the motherboard.

Sounds like a good idea to me!

Well I think that would most likely fall under General Tech Discussion or Tech News section. more than likely the former.

i think it would be neat... but thats about it. the topics would most likely get long. and after a few it wouldn't be quite the same as the first or 2nd. but if someone did make one on the birth of a computer and had some kind of website with it that might be fun. pics of the empty desk. then pics of the boxes of parts. pics of the parts not fitting. pics of the return box. pic of the almost done computer. pic of the DOA power supply. pic of the finally working computer. pic of the failed attemp at OC'ing and the burnt CPU. pic of the new CPU and MOBO. pic of the first case mod. then 2nd and 3rd. pic of the computer when its in its prine. pic of it before it gets downgraded beacuse some new thing came out. pic of it in peices again. pic of it being sold on ebay. the entire life cycle of a computer.....

I agree that tech. discussion or pc mod. if case related. When you get too many forums for one the post don't get seen as much, and the more forums you have you will end up with same topic in another forum. There is already plenty of forums to search through now and well fitted of about everything.
