Criteria for getting your image on the front page?
So, I was already confused prior to this, but now I'm just completely baffled.
What criteria has to be met for a member's posted photo to be shown on the front page (the front page of TechIMO)?
I thought it would show any member's uploaded photo but only show one from any given member. I also thought it would show the member's newest photo.
Then (even though I asked for clarification numerous times) I finally figured out for myself that the front page does not show a members most recent photo. Obviously once you get a photo up there it's gonna be there for a good long time…like weeks. Even if you post new photos after that, they will not show on the front page.
Ok, so I got tired of one of my photos being on the front page for a couple weeks now, so I deleted the photo. Ok, that was fine. Now when I post a new photo shouldn't it be shown on the front page??? As I understand it, YES, it should.
But I have posted a new photo, quite a while after I deleted the photo that was previously on the front page, yet the new photo is not being shown on the front page.
So I guess my question is….WHY?
Why is my photo not being seen on the front page? Am I blacklisted? Are the photos currently on the front page going to be there forever??? What gives?

You really have a bone to pick with this front-page gallery don't you!?!?
Poor Scott, already busy as heck and you bug him with a million threads about the front page gallery.
You do realize he runs TechIMO, ResellerRatings and Photopost primarily by himself ( or so i assume) He does have some Photopost dev's but they don't seem to so much site-wise.
Granted, the front-page gallery code probably needs an overhaul, and I think it would be safe in assuming that it is on the "list"
Leave the poor guy alone... it will likely be done with the next major update!!!

Oh BTW, I've NEVER had any photos in that front-page gallery. Scott did put my fake Apple PDA photos up on the front(Before we knew they were fake) So don't feel blacklisted. Looks like I got ousted by a dead deer. It's also looks like Warty's toilets got blacklisted from the front.
Suggestion. When the photos are approved, have a section that the mod or admin can select that will list that photo as "not suitable for the front page" That way the innapropriate stuff stays off and the ok stuff makes it without some huge coding procedure.

It not so much I got a bone to pick as it is I'd just like some clarification....aknowledgement,...something.
If people are extremely busy, then FINE, it takes about 2 seconds (literally!) to just say, "Hey kinda busy now, will get to this later."
Is that so much to ask?....Freaky.....*deleted* OuT, please remain respectful of other members opinions, even when you're frustrated. Such name calling isn't very nice, and you know we don't tolerate that.- Fingers Quote: |

C'mon buddy. If you want it resolved why not E-MAIL him?
This is not the way to get things done. Do you expect US to answer for him? Are you trying to force him into changing it by getting US invloved? What is the point of all of this? Why not talk to Scott and when it's resolved post the conclusion? Nope you go into attack mode and get all of us invloved.
So now that you have everybody involved, I stick up for the guy and get called names?

I haven't posted any pics lately so I haven't experienced anything that you guys are talkin about. I have noticed that the quantity, and variaty are changing a lot. I think Scotts just working to see what works best. I'd just shoot him or Fingers or one of the other "In complete cool and stuff charge of everything till something happens that causes them not to be in charge of everything persons" (Mods). I'm sure they are just working it out. Infact if you shoot them a PM I'm sure some comments would help them out!

OuT's asking a legitimate question here. Seems to me that TechIMO is the primary testbed for Photopost, as well as being part of the community that Scott created himself.
The Photopost section of this site has always been a bit confusing to me as well. I believe that this is the proper forum for posing questions, as to allow Scott to demonstrate not only the flexibility of Photopost, but to offer pointers on how to administer it properly in the interest of an internet community.

A logical and rational thought makes it through the clutter. Thanks Thud.
Is EVERYBODY on the rag or what?
Despite how overly sensitive the mods seems to be lately, I would hope at least you understood, Freaky, that my reference about the color of your nose was said in jest with friendly intent. Sorry if you didn't interpret it that way. Maybe a smiley would've helped.
The reason why I don't email him is because of the exact reason mentioned, if he is very busy then I don't want to pester him with "no so important" sh**.
A thread here serves many purposes AFAIC. 1. Scott (or anyone else who may know) can take notice of it and reply to it whenever. 2. It serves as a catalyst for other members to voice their opinion if they are too experiencing the same kind of issues I am. 3. It gives me more data to judge whether or not this is a legitimate issue that someone needs to be pestered about, or if it's not an issue at all.
