Pictures OUT, RR IN!?

Ok,

So we get RR replacing the news when I'm viewing a thread. Don't like it but I live with it.

Then we get more banners under the threads, while this fux0rs my low res linux box (1024X768), I guess I can understand the need for more ads. Especialy since they are not obtrusive. (Flashing at me and whatnot) and I could just block them all together if they really pissed me off.

See the screenshot to see what I mean. Like I really want two friggen rows of those config buttons.

Now, the whole gallery on the front page is gone! I mean come on, this site is made up of three disticnt things IMO.

1) Forums
2) News
3) Gallery

And all of them used to be previewed on the front page. Now all of a sudden gallery is not important? I understand there was a tift about peoples pictures getting pushed off, but come on, kill the thing all together? A little extreme for my tastes.

SO whats the offical word on the replacement of the gallery on the main page?

Is this technical difficulties? I sure hope so. I really hope that someone didn't think replacing it with ANOTHER RR search box was the holy grail of ideas.

My opinion, which I think counts for something.

ya, I liked the gallery on the front page...
sometimes I forget to look in the gallery now for new pics.

completely agree with you jk...My linux box has to run at 800x600 and then I get 3 rows of buttons. That's cool with me because the ads dont' really intrude onto the content. But removing the gallery? come on..that's the only place the pics got seen most of the time.

Wow, I didn't even notice till just now... Shows how much I pay attention.

I don't think it looks that bad. At least it's not garish like my website. Heh.

It's not that it looks bad having RR there, its that suddenly gallery is now gone (something I think most members liked) and RR is in its place (something that even if they *did* want to use it, is already in 3 other places).

I have to agree. Personally I like looking at the gallery to see the image creations and personal images from members. It was nice to be able to see the headlines and the gallery in one convenient place....

RR has been there on the homepage for a long time. Just not on the news side of the links on top. The gallery is still there, it looks as though Photopost is just broken, or being coded to go with the suggestions from a previous thread. I noticed a few days ago it went from what, like four pics to twelve? I doubt they'd just cut it out after that. Certainly the wouldn't leave the header and link there if they did... Maybe.

Kinda. I still have no idea how it works. I was under the impression it would show a users most recently posted image and only one image per member.

But it doesn't do that.

The image of mine it's showing it pretty old now. But if I have to wait for it to be pushed off that page before it'll show a newer one, then hell, that could take like a friggin year!
