Advice for when you reach 3,000

One when you finally get the chance to make your own title... avoid the following:

Banned: This results in your title coming to life as a lesson to you. You really ARE banned. Not a good idea.

Moderator: This fruitless attempt results in a title of *********

Misspelings of Moderator: This includes my foray with Mawderator. This lasted until fingers noticed, about 3 minutes after it's arrival.

Anything offensive, etc: Since this is attached under your name to all 3000 posts of yours, it's probably one of the fastest ways to get the privilege taken away. Use your good judgement when choosing a title.

That's my advice. If you abuse your title it WILL be taken away. Simple as that.

I am posting this so that MntSnow won't have to ban everybody that puts Banned under their name. LOL

Well it took me a year to get 1100, so I prolly have another year and a half to go before I worry about it.

This is pretty standard stuff really. Practically all forums disallow member names containing the site name or anything that members could use to decieve other members regarding their affiliation with the site, such as Admin, Administrator, Mod, Moderator, Staff... etc.

Put yourself in our shoes and consider all the times we'd be asked why so-and-so member is still posting when thier status says "banned", or why so-and-so isn't listed on the moderator list....

While not specifically noted in the rules, misleading usernames and titles would be covered under this portion of the FAQ:

You will not knowingly post any content or material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate - TechIMO FAQ

I also noticed Leader is a naughty word to use also and results in ******

I wanted the name, "The Ringleader" at one point (there is a story behind it) and so had to use "The Ringlead3r"...I wasn't trying to mislead anyone, just wanted that title
