Yama Haaamaa.......
So, I was sitting in my kitchen watchin' TV... Thinking, 'Hmm... Maybe I'll go and sit on TIMO for a few hours.'. So I go sit down, go to the site and am bombarded upon every click by POPUPS. What a turnoff.
It produces a complete disinterest in viewing the site, and as a result - probably at LEAST a few hundred page views from me (a few clicks, too) were lost tonight. That's too bad.
This is 50% rant, 50% suggestion...
Cya tomorrow...!

Yeah, I'd have to agree. If I wasn't using Opera right now I'd probably be really angry about popup ads as well. I know that we need the money to keep the server going, but there has to be another way.

It would be nice to see the ads completely gone once Scott & Associates start making a profit off of OUR reviews @ ResellerRatings... :-/

Hmmm... Interesting. I haven't seen one pop-up (or pop-under for that matter) since I've been on tonight. I'm just using plain ol' IE6 and Win XP Pro. |

Like I've said before - it's sporadic, for whatever reason.
On my main PC, I don't think I get any. Ever... But on other PC's sometimes I'll get none - other times I'll be bombarded.

Sounds like you may have a spyware problem on your pc. Do you Adaware from LavaSoft? It will find and remove spyware from your system. |

I do not condone ad filtering software, but I do use and recommend popup stopper programs. This is the one I use.
From what I understand, Scott is not selling popup space on the site. It is our advertising agency from which Scott is trying to draw profit. Until PhotoPost and RR.com make money, he will have to advertise so he can eat. He has asked the agency to limit/ delete popups. It is against their policy to completely delete the popups, but they said (if I remember correctly) that they would limit the popup content on the site.
This issue has come up many times and it is an ongoing process of dealing with the agency. Scott is doing all he can. He has addressed this before on the forum several times, so if he does not post here, do not think he does not care or does not hear you.

(and of course, I haven't noticed any from here either...)
