Slow News
One things I've noticed here, and a lot lately, is that the new is really, really slow.
We go 5 or 6 days with no new news then bam! one day we have 7 new articles. Then 6 more newsless days and bam! 5 more articles.
I kidna got used to one or two articles every few days and am just curious. Is this a result of lack of good news? Some sort of schedule of when news is reveiwed? Would there be any way to get it more consistent?
Dunno, but last time I saw this happen, sudden irregularity in news, (sysopt) big things were going down, so news in this fashion makes me worry needlessly I guess.

No....I am not certain what happened here this last week. I submitted 3 articles about 5 days ago, and it looks like they just posted today. I am just as confused as you are about this one.
They generally post very quickly, at least within a 12 hour period.

I posted the Opteron thing days ago .. then the thread about it popped up.. then a few more days and bam! There's my now stale article.
It really doesn't entice us to post news if the admins don't appreciate it enough to even post it within a reasonable amount of time..

Right now, myself, Mark Stubblefield, and Matt Johnson, are running TechIMO and ResellerRatings. We have all been busy on ResellerRatings, turning it into a profitable venture and improving the site. We still update TechIMO's news, but less frequently than normal.

I think a lot of members read and post news....it's a shame that it can't be fixed? It really does take away an aspect of the site.
Is there anyway to have other members be 'in charge' of ok-ing news?? I'm sure plenty of yuppies would volunteer.

| jacko49, you have to realize that at this time only the Administrators can review news (including ScottW that posted above) and they as Scott mentioned are extremely busy trying to get RR up and running so they can breath a little easier and make this site better.
However, as Wart mentioned isn't there a way to modify the script for submissions for a "News Administrator" to review the news before posting?
Sorry I'm not much of a perl scripter to know how to edit the scripts myself to help out
