It is my understanding that catagories were going to be reinstated as soon as enough new data is inputed to RR.com.
I was also a big fan of the catagory ratings and would not like to see it go either.
At the old RR, if a company got a rating of 3.5, that was questionable, but if they get low ratings on price, returns, and customer service, but high on shipping and everything else, I would still order from them if I was ordering the one product that was cheap there and it had almost no chance of needing to be RMAed (say a heavy duty mouse pad, cables, or face plates)
FYI - the old system had ratings from 0.0 to 7.0, where each customer could rate "yes" or "no" to any or all of the seven questions. A "no" would be a 0 for that catagory, and a "Yes" would be a 1 for that catagorie. There were then graphs showing the seven catagories and shows whether the average rating for that company was good with that area (showing a bar to the right of the median) or bad (more "no"'s than "yes"'s; a bar to the left of the median).
You could then see what each resellers ratings was comprised of.

Posting with such a heading may discourage others from posting relevant material, as is seen here. You also must remember that this forum is not just for ResellerRatings, but for TechIMO.com, a previously seperate technical forum. Your blanket statement may have confused a few of the TechIMOers. But thats alright today because your new here.
If you want the heading changed, just hit "report this post to the moderators" on the bottom left of your post and write that you want it changed to, and I or one of the other mods will gladly change it for you. Your heading isn't in direct violation of the rules, but you may want it changed to get more relevant feedback.
And welcome to the TechIMO/ResellerRatings Community.
