TFJWM is infamous around these parts
Changing the date of original review

I was wondering why when you change your review with a new invoice number it doesnt get moved to reposted like a new review. Me editing a 6 month review with a new invoice number and totally new problem is where I first posted the original review 4 months ago. That isnt going to help people who want to know what is going with the company now.

Same here. I ordered a product from company X back in Oct 2009, wrote a review, and it posted fine. I just recently bought a different product from the same company last week and submitted a NEW REVIEW (w/ a new invoice number) and all it did was replace the text of my OLD review...and redate the new material as Oct 2009.

Is there an FAQ that explains the rationale for this craptastic strategy?

Hello,

At this time, one review instance per person per merchant only, and one user account per person only, is permitted. This means if you have more than one purchase and wish to re-review a merchant, log into your existing review, enter the new information regarding your latest purchase (transaction date, transaction number, written opinion, survey answers) then submit. This process does not "bump" your review to the top of the index but your survey answers are always counted.

We are in the process of redesigning and redeveloping the site so as to better publish and display reviews - and make it easier to register and activate accounts; should be completed sometime this year.

I see this suggestion wasn't implemented with the site redesign. I think it's a good idea. I believe we should only be able to edit our review for a business and not post multiple reviews for the same company, but when I edit because of a new transaction with the company, that should be reflected by moving the review to the top of the list. And only because of a new invoice, not for any other reason for editing such as grammar mistakes or adding additional information.

I recently edited a review for a company because of a new order and gave it 5 stars instead of the original 3 for my previous order because they no longer practice the policy that made me give it 3 stars. My newest order was placed in October 2011 and the older one was placed several years ago, yet my review is still buried deep in the pages of the company's reviews because I originally reviewed them in December 2010. My new transaction and new experience with the company reflects their current behavior and that should be noted by moving it to the top of the list with other current reviews.

Remember these two things when reading any review. People are much more likely to write a review after one bad experience than after all the good experiences they've had. And that glowing review just maybe was written by an employee of the company.
