PM System needs change.

I know people have been complaining about it and people joke around about it a lot.... but twice it has caused me pain.

both sent me messeges. Megalos couldn't get his through due to the limit.

wyvrn's came through but I had a bunch of pm's and do'c was blocked so I deleted a whole bunch, accidentally including wyvrn's. I had not had a chance to fully read over his PM.

Most of the time I don't care but when it starts messing up things I feel as important... maybe partly my fault but the system isn't helping.

I really don't understand why PM's have to be blocked when the user reaches their limit. Anandtech puts a send block on so that, once over your limit, you can't SEND any messeges, but can still recieve them.

Any PM that is sent to a user with a full PM box is sent down the garburator. Doc has recently expressed his annoyance of this in his strangling of me post. hehe

Some people have found ways around this, but I think the system itself should change... and not have the user compensate for the shortfalls of the system.

Yes, but it doesn't tell you how many PM's you actually have....

And like I said...the PM system should work for us, not us work for the pm system...

What is the message limit anyway? So I can look out before my box is full. I have 38 messages BTW. Should I empty my box?

I think it is about 100 message limit ..

The key is to clean your inbox regularly, if you receive a lot of PM ..

Now I delete everything right after I read it, unless it is very important.

I only recieved this message once that I recall and I think it informed me that I had 119 pms in my inbox... It also gave the name of the person that tried to message me but said it couldn't be delivered because my inbox was full. (I better start doing some housekeeping ).

Hmm I never go down there to get my PM's though.. and I think you are an exception because you are a mod... If I get that e-mail I DON'T get that messege... just ask the DOC who has been ignoring me ever since just because of it..

There has to be limit every pm takes up space. Just delete old ones or save on your computer not server. Take 5000 ppl @ 100 pm's each a lot of old mail just sitting there taking up room.
