Personal Name Usage

It's my understanding that ResellerRatings does not allow the use of personal names in reviews about companies. Why then is Alienware allowed to use the personal names of customers in their rebuttals? Shouldn't all of their rebuttals using personal names be deleted?

The merchant has been emailed for removal of the name.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I see that Alienware has removed my name from their post, so thank you for that as well.

My query though was really of a more broad general nature. I know for a fact though that if a review is negative and mentions a name, Alienware will challenge it and have it removed. They on the other hand always use customer names in the negative ratings they reply to...not just mine. Isn't that a double standard? Shouldn't they be in compliance with your policy on ALL posts they make?

Yes; all merchants are held to the same ResellerRatings policies as users.

If violations are noted by either party, please contact us with the username of the review and nature of the violation.
