Post reply without being logged on

Sometimes, for some odd reason, I get logged off techimo (not by manual means).
I don't of course notice I've been logged off.

If I then try and post a reply to a thread, it says that I'm not logged in and asks for username and password.
If I then supply the username and password, vb comes up with the following error:
No thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster

Is there something wrong with my browser settings or is that a bug?
Needless to say, what I typed has been lost.

Which browser?

In the meantime, you *may* be able to recover what you typed if you hit [back] a few times and copy the text.

I have the same problem often, but 9 out of 10 times I can go back to copy the post, but then need to sign in again, go back to the thread, and paste the response. It's a pain, but well worth it.

I don't think this is an "error", but a function of the security of the database, so "guests" can't post "accidentally". If you are not logged in, it does not remember your post, so when you log in, you don't have a valid post to go to.

Not sure if it could be "fixed" or not. The key is to stay logged in....

Cheers
Mick

If this thing would just keep me logged on, and not logoff every now and then.

I would appreciate if it would (when not logged in) popup a box saying, 'b t w, you aren't logged in!' which would allow me to cut the text, logon, paste it back and reply.

That it now asks for login details is pretty much pointless when I can't make the post even when I submit the correct information.

Of course, if it's just me, just ignore this
