"Too Many Emoticons"...and Total Meltdown
This has happened so many times, I decided this time to make a note of it here.
I've written a long-ish piece, and hit enter, and the screen says something like, "There are too many emoticons, etc."
So I hit the "back" button, and...
The entire post has vanished.
No way to find it. Gone, gone, gone. Tonight it was "Favorite Comedians". I spent about a half hour making a really nice post. Got the "no-go" screen, and the same thing happened as has happened before.
Gone. What the hey? |

That's doesn't happen with Mozilla. If my text disappears from the input screen I can almost always just hit CTRL-Z (undo) and bam, it's back.
And prior to Mozilla I used to (and still do often) simply not type long messages in the input box. It only takes a second to pop open Notepad then just cut 'n paste when you're done.
Trust me I know how extrmemly frustrating that can be.
Oh, and btw, I think the limit to images in a single post is 10. And the emoticons each count as a single image. Let me test it...

BTW Knot, I first tried to post that with 11 images and it gave me the screen saying too many blah blah ... so I just hit the back button and since Mozilla rocks, my text was there waiting for me.
The thing you gotta watch out for is when you do a preview post, it'll let you have as many images in the post as you want. It won't warn you or anything. Then when you go to actually post it that's when it rejects the message.

Yeah, gotta watch it, I guess.
But I will take your idea about the notepad, that's good insurance (plus, I don't haveta change anything on my friend's comp!).

Okay, happened again, only this time, I got a "too many connections" screen...
Another one down the drain.
It seems that when I really write something here with serious thought, insight, yada yada, (i.e., more than 30 words, ) it goes bye-bye.
Waste of time. |
