need laptop

I'm going off to college this fall and I need to get a laptop before I leave. I've done a lot of research on laptops, but there are so many to choose from. I want my laptop to be my desktop replacement, so I want the works, except I must keep the price under 2000. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I work at best buy, so if anyone thinks they have any worthy laptops tell me. Thanks.

Talk I think I know who can help -

I purchased a Laptop from a company in Texas SOLA Corp.
210 764-1344

They bought a bunch of Dell Inspiron 8100's for their company and ended up with about 15 laptops more than they needed.

I bought an 8100 with
1.2 ghz
15/navidia/64
2 X 30 meg removable HD's
CD RW DVD
removable 250 Zip drive
removable floppy
2 hi-cap batteries
512 ram
10/100
all ports you can imagine etc.
2 year FULL replacement warranty and in home service

I called Dell gave them them the service code number to the laptop and they quoted me $5,240 for an identical unit.
Well I bought one - all I tell you is that its more than I ever expected, has full customer care and warranties. 'Loaded' and I paid less than 2K for it. HOT laptop - Trust me I know what out there and these things are LOADED! GOOD LUCK and see if they have any more left. I spoke to Ed.

I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 1100 for a college bound girl (a client). Ended up being less than $1000. I can get discounts on my SMB Dell account. You can always order through Dell Home, but they charge a little more.

Email me @ chris@implexantsystems.com for more info.

Also, Toshiba seems to make a pretty good laptop. I just personally like Dells
