I'd steer clear, 1024x768 isn't all that great. You can usually find brand new Dell 18.1 FP 1800s on ebay for around $400. They go tp 1280x1024. Watch out for some of those idiot shipping overchargerds. I shipped the exact same monitor today w/ $500 insurance for $21 through UPS, so that gives you an idea of what it should cost.

jmebonner is right about shipping, some people overcharge. Unless it's better than ground, it shouldn't go over $25.

I shipped out a 15" Viewsonic in it's original box, inside another box with packing peanuts and it was $23.34. This was with Delivery Confirmation and insured for $225. Priority would have only been $4 more.

The only way shipping on eBay should be more is if they are charging more and getting lower bids. The total price is the same, but this is a way "around" eBay getting a % of all your money.

shipping fees on ebay

try selling a $400 monitor on ebay and you will understand why shipping fees are so high. It has nothing to do with overcharging, but with so many 3rd party fees it has to be this way.

Talk IF THIS MONITOR IS FOR YOUR FATHER

Hello guys,

I have to tell you that you are buying a monitor for your father this one with the resolution of 1024x768 may be the best choice!!
I had to buy a LCD for my father also and I bought a 17 widescreen one and because the native resolution was bigger than 1024x768 MY FATHER HATED IT!!
He said everything was too small and he couldnt see it bla bla bla bla .... anyway I returned that LCD and I bought this same one you are looking at and my father LOVED IT!!!!! He is thinking about buying another one!!

So think about that when buying LCD for the "oldies!!!"

Yeah, what he said. My grandpa has a 15" flat panel and INSIST that it go no higher than 800x600. It's like the resolution for the blind.
