I have SBC Yahoo DSL and it's been working fine for me. No downtime, no major problems.

iNeb,

For California Residents:

The rates are 29.99/month for the first 12 months of service (1 year contract required), don't have to pre-pay...payments are made monthly for the entire term. It goes back to regular price Month to Month after the 1 year period is over. Standard Plus Package is the same price as Basic (not sure why they offer Basic at this price when you can get Standard Plus for the same dollar amount) and the speeds are up to 384Kbps-1.5Mbps.

Now the key to getting the most out of these deals is to terminate the service after the contract period is over...especially if they're attempting to charge you "regular" price for the same service you've been getting at a discounted rate all year long. There are SO MANY DSL services out there with free trial periods. If you really like SBC...cancel your service...try another service free for a full month...then go back to SBC when that month is over and take advantage of the Newer deals available from them. The great thing about these companies is they get so much cheaper as time passes on.

Yes, this is a hassle but after all, a deal is a deal....and this is a deal forum. Besides, it just means more money in your pocket.

I have SBC/Yahoo and it is working really well. They send you everything needed for the hookup so this is a great deal. The monthly charge is just added to the phone bill with no yearly prepayment.

If you live in an area served by Adelphia Cable, you can get cable modem for $20./month, in addition to your regular cable bill.

Thats a pretty nice deal.
AT&T, now Comcast just RAISED there rates.
If you DO NOT subscribe to there TV cable service but do subsribe to there broadband service the price is now penny's shy of $60.00 a month.
I called about this obvious attempt to have me subsribe to there TV service, which intitles you to a $14.95 discount per month, and told them for the cost of there service I would have to look into my options. They offered me the broadband service for $29.95 a month for the next 6 months. After that, ?????

At school I have Cox Cable Internet and they just raise the prices to $40. At home we're running Prodigy dial-up which is owned by SBC Yahoo. My parents want to keep the e-mail address so the only broadband is SBC Yahoo broadband. Unfortunately SBC Yahoo's brdbnd is only available in certain states.
