The last time I was at my Aldis they still had some left from the christmas promo... But they are a good deal - all top-notch components. Anybody that wants one and doesn't have an Aldis, contact me and maybe we can work something out.

I would happily trade a grocery store for a very big Electronics store! | Here in SoCal we have a Fry's, Best Buy, Compusa, Staples, Radio Shack(several), Office Depot, Staples and I belive Newegg is in long beach(45min drive tho). So I guess not having an Aldi's isn't all that bad .

Yes, I was surprised to find out in a few years a Fry's is being built within 10 minuts of my house! (Of course I plan on being off to a major university in 2 years. )

On ALDI ...
as outlined in one link that twistedbrntucker gave, ALDI started out here about 40 years ago as the first "real discounter" - not emphasizing on the equipment within the outlets but on low prices. Meanwhile, ALDI has developed that much power that it can dictate its suppliers pricing and has promoted itself to be an acceptable place to buy from across social strata.
Over here, people tended to queue up early in the morning (well before the shops open) to get hold of an ALDI-PC the day they start selling it.
A relative of mine bought the December one and I realized it was extremely quiet indeed and the specs were fine too (the price was € 1198).

It's going to be $699. Please note that it does NOT include the monitor. That is additional $100.

| I love shopping there, here in Cincinnati. My teenage daughter hates it and still refers to it as "The Poor Store"She doesn't realize that many of the products sold at ALDI are indeed name brand products.Just private labeled. Some of the products even taste better than most name brands as well.Yes ALDI does have the clout.
On the PC, I like the media hub in front.Memory card reader, the works.I want one of those on my homebuilt as well

The Medion Computer at Aldi's Grocery store is in my local circular this week for Greenville, Ohio. The price is 699. The 19" monitor is 99 extra. It sounds like a nice computer for the price.
The add says the specials will be available on Monday March 31st.

A work mate of mine bought an Aldi computer last year, and AFAIK everything seems to be running just fine...
He uses it mainly for photo editing and surfing, but I know he's got some games on there too
