Verbatim CDR/RW 48X Drive $9.99 after MIRS

I saw this in the paper for mondays sale (Feb 17th) with Staples. Looks like a good deal! Verbatim does a great job on MIRs for CDR discs and other stuff by them. Office Depot is posting the same deal for monday as well. Hope someone can use this!

I got one of those, along with a good Rubbermaid chair mat, (my cheapy had started to crack). The $50 mat purchase allowed me to use an on-line $25(?) discount code, plus the mat also has a $25 MIR.

I had gotten one of those drives from Office Max about three weeks ago for $20 after MIR.

But I've noticed that the Verbatim rebate form was for units purchased from Jan. 26 (approx) thru Mar. 1 or 31(?).
Since that's a limit one per household, I think I'm going to have trouble getting that $30 rebate on this second drive.

I should have looked more carefully at the pdf files before I got my great deal, or so I thought.

Just thought this might help others. . .

That wasn't just a two-day President's day deal was it? Can't find that drive on the OM site anymore.

- Bill

Hi Bill,

This new promo starts tommorrow (sun) at staples and OD.
Out of stock on the OM Verbatim drive here
Do you happen to know who the OEM manufacture of your Verbatim drive is?

Yeah I would like to know who manufactures those drives. I might be needing a new drive because my cendyne burner isn't compatible with norton ghost.

I never found the drive on Staple's website muchless for that price. I did, however, find THIS deal.

Chris64 -- I think Cendyne supplies CDRW drives for verbatim. I've seen firmware upgrade information for Verbatim CDRW drives on Cendyne website. Also, when I submitted verbatim mail-in-rebate to rebateshq, they marked it as a Cendyne mail-in-rebate -- even the check indicated it as a Cendyne mail-in-rebate.

I built 3 systems using the verbatim CDRW drives. They worked very well. The drive on my current system works great.
