I'm getting stiffed on the Rebate. Anyone that bought one of these, I'd be eternally grateful if you could email me a picture of the UPC code. They admit receiving my documentation and are denying it because there is no UPC code included.
DUH! It was a decal that I detached and glued to the receipt. This is going to suck if the beat me out of $160 over a this.
Thanks in advance, I owe you.

Well, they would know that the same upc would have been used twice.
I got one of my rebate approved and the other one denied.
That means I paid $302 after tax for the 17" flat panel.
The rebate denied is $80 worth. I am not going down like a sucker. I will harass them.

Yes, I know, lesson learned and all that but if anyone copied there's, all I need is the picture of the UPC. After all, I sent in the rebate receipt and the other hoops they asked for, somehow they lost the UPC or didn't see it attached to the receipt.
I'm not trying to scam them, I'd send them mine but I do not have it and mine is for $160 bucks, not $80. I paid over 460 for this puppy.
We are talking UPC code, not serial number. UPC is not unique to the box.
Thanks, if anyone has this, I'd really appreciate it.

Do you think sending them just bar code would do it? No.
You need the whole upc, which include the bar code, serial, product identification info, etc.
If I were you, I would go to best buy buy a new one and scan the upc and send it to them. Then, you return the unopened item to best buy saying that you changed your mind.

Not to be rude, but if you don't have this product and can't produce a bar code, quit busting my chops for trying to get my legitimately owed rebate money. I bought one, have the receipt, bought the extended warranty and am well within my rights to pursue this.
OK, here's the whole, long story. I bought this in late January. It said allow 8-10 weeks. I did and then some. I tried through BB to find out but they eventually referred me to the manufacturer for this rebate.
I finally spoke to a person that said my rebate was denied due to not including the UPC. I work some with UPC (I'm in the manufacturing field) and it is Universal Product Code and only identifies Large Product A from Small Product B and is identical on each example of the same unit. It is printed on the packaging many times where as a serial number is unique per item. This is the thing that gets scanned at the counter to tell them it is a Large Product A.
The lady I spoke with said I should fax a copy of my UPC to the Rebate Resolution Department to have my rebate be completed. This is what I'm trying to do. They have everything else but somehow lost my UPC. I don't have it any more because I sent it in.

Just quit the nonsense. Nobody is judging you for trying to get your money back. Heck, I even told you to go to buy best and buy a new product, scan its upc, sent it, then return the unopened package to best buy.
It seems that you have a one track mind and are not trying to understand what is being said to you. I have a copy of the freak'n upc label and the way it is designed you have no way to seperate the bar code from the serial without it being incomplete.
Plus, you always have to send the serial along with the bar code when you redeem a rebate.
The model number is on top, then the configuration ID, the serial, and finally the bar code. If you want just the bar code just say so, but there is no way they will accept it if it does not have the serial number portion.
I called best buy about my $80, they gave me a fax number to fax the copy of the upc along with a case and reference ID. They said it will take a week to reach a final decision.

That's all they said they wanted was the UPC. That's all I'm going to send them. That's all I need. The lady gave me a case number and all as well. Apparently you know what I'm talking about.
You know what though, I got tired of everyone giving me the run around so I took my receipt to BB and they took a new box to the copier and made me a copy for free, no hassle, no 3rd degree, nothing.
So thanks for nothing. Since when did everyone start having something to say about crap they have no idea what they are talking about? This is supposed to be a community for support, fellowship and all that rah-rah.
