Too far from a CO for dsl we tried that
I think cable almost always has a monopoly
They're in the middleof upgrading all the lines to fiber and for the past 4 months they've been saying "2-3 months!" lol and guessing they'll be saying that for the next 2-3 months
So while they're moving into fiber we're stuck with crap :/

anything has to be better than the cheapest place here @ $28 month for dail-up. No cable internet in town here and DSL is $60 a month plus $120 install in which they have to do

The last I checked it was almost as much as the DSL here. Plus I've heard you loose connection in bad weather and here in Kansas that's almost weekly at times

Road Runner cable routed to 2 Pcs @$45 per month 24/7. Downloading a say 700mb movie is no big deal.

$8.95 mo. Unlimited

It connects the same as my BellSouth account at 49,333, however the Bluelight servers are not bogged down here like the BellSouth's are.

The data transfer is much quicker, only glitch is that some may find the small banner a problem. It is NOT to me.. and I'm picky.

29.99 per month. 512 down 128 up..
And all the 404 error pages I can read for free!

Charter cable, they oversold their band width..
It's not any better than dial up, but cheaper for me. Dial up was costing 45.00 per month because I needed a dedicated phone line.

Why not try the link?

I used www.findanisp.com to get a list of what is/was available in my area, and they list DSL service as an optional search requirement.

One neat thing I learned: everyone resells access which is actually provided by only a few major carriers (UUnet, StarPOP, MegaPOP, etc). In fact, search Google for 'Become An ISP' - you'll get an eye full!
