MHayes is technically correct.

All rebate forms say "not valid with any other offer"

I used one at my OD and they barely looked at it.

Got a twin pack of HP carts, #17 & #45 and a small pack of glossy paper for $44.00 inc tax

A UPS, that's a great idea there AuraEdge, I circled the store a couple of laps and didn't think of them.

Well I used the coupon, and still got a seperate rebate coupon for the CD-rs that makes no mention of the 20 off 50 coupon, so I dont think its a problem. Now that you mentioned this, I probably wont make a copy of the reciept and try to make the 1.50 rebate on the pens I bought ..might not work anyways, and I'll be out the stamp. Not worth the 6-8 weeks waiting for money for a cheeseburger.

UPS's have gone way down in price since I last thought about buying one...It was 100 for a 500va unit last time I checked. Now its $55-60, and for APC nonetheless. Definitly going to get one, and it if works how I want it to, I'll get one for the other comp too before the deal runs out (still have til the 8th).

I'm almost at the point where I think I'm really abusing this coupon now, but almost isn't quite there yet

Had to sign up to say thanks for this link. Saw it today, went down to Office Depot tonight and found a Memorex CDRW 40X 12X 48X. Original price was $99.99 reduced to $69.99 less a $20 MIR then they accepted the coupon, net price $30 plus tax. Wow. Installed and working great, didn't even have the coupon with me, they let me download it for free in the store. If anyone is interested in this deal, get it today, must be purchased by August 31st for MIR.

Welcome mrmacca, neat that the store let you do that, makes things almost affordable too)

AuraEdge, the main usage I have for a UPS is when doing a install on a new machine. It's real bad news to get a power outage or surge durning fdisk or o/s loading.

I think the 500va UPS is good for about 11 minutes with a 17" monitor.

Well I just made my trip down there. Apparently, the web price was 54.99, but the store price was 59.99

But all it is is a tag that says $59.99 - 500va, and it was conviently right underneath the sticker tag that said APC va350 - 89.99 - $30 MIR = 59.99

So i asked the sales guy, and I flipped the va350 tag over. He looked in the computer, and that was an APC model of the va500, but that particular model that matched the tag was gone. There, however, were two APC ES series va500, and he said it matched neither. The only difference was that one had USB connectivity, a RJ-45 jack for surge protection, a $50,000 warrantee, and said "18 minutes runtime while the power is out", whereas the other one was just serial, only had phone, had a $25,000 warrantee, and said "16 minutes runtime while the power is out". So I ask him to do a price lookup for those two..he takes them to the computer. He searches the USB model one, and it comes up at 59.99 also...So im thinking, wow, cool. He searchs up the other one, and he says "$37.49" I repeated him and said "37.49??!" and hes says yep.
So i snagged two off the shelf, rang them up, used the coupon, and walked out with two APC va500 for under 60 bucks after tax with no MIR. Mind you I checked all down the highway stores I passed for any 500va UPS's, including BestBuy, CompUSA, and OfficeMax. They either didnt carry UPS's, or the cheapest one was $99.99. And I got two for less than 60% of the price.

Maybe this should get its own topic in Deals and Steals?

Anyways, to sum it up

APC Back-UPS ES Series 500va x 2 (Serial number 1B0131S33033) ($75) - $20 off $50 Coupon = $55 for 2 500va UPS's

If you dont need two, you can pick up the other model of APC's ES series 500va with USB, better warrantee and Network surge protection and use the $20 coupon to make it $40 for 1 better model UPS.

EDIT - I just hooked up the UPS's. Lots of rewiring since I wanted to tidy up everything. Only note I wanted to add was that the phone jacks on the UPS's that I bought are actually Hybrid 8-pin RJ11/RJ45s. That means you can surge protect either the phone or network with this UPS. I hooked network in one, and phone to the other in the other room.

The chart on the box I bought states 9 minutes uptime with a Desktop and 19" screen, 12min with a 17", and 16min with a 15". Below it, they state runtime for a "Tower" system being 7min for a 19", 9 min for a 17" and 13min with a 15". If your computer is loaded up with tons of harddrives, CD-roms, hungry CPU's, etc, then itll probably be around the tower quote or less. Havent actually tried it out since I still need to charge up the battery.

I tried using this coupon at an Office Max, but the guy couldn't verify that it's an Office Depot coupon (since the URL is not Office Depot).

Anyone have an idea how you can tell that this is an Office Depot coupon?

AuraEdge, great deal on the UPS. I went to our Office Depot and all they had was the $59.99 model in stock. I passed. But I did pick up an Epson C60 printer for $40 after the coupon. I trashed my printer and the kids needed one for school.

I also noticed a $100 2.4GHz cordless phone on the 50% off counter. Takes it to $50 - $20 for the coupon = $100 phone for $30. My wife is going to pick that up tomorrow I think.

I guess the picture of the Office Depot store on the coupon was
not enough!!
Those 500VA APC UPSs must have been discontinued to be had at that price. Great deal though.
I went to make some Staples rebate copies at OD today,(I feel
guilty). Was looking for the 2-port KVM w/cables that I saw there
last Sat. It was a D-Link for $69.99. Of course it was gone by the time I got over there today. . .
