I can personally assure you that the do swap out "stinker" pieces without any questions. I got a "stinker piece" and they replaced it with a not so smelly one.

I thought crucial was a higher quality ram than kingston?
Also how come every time I see the "kingston value ram" it only comes with a one year warranty yet newegg's has a lifetime warranty?

I myself need some am in need of 256mb.
