Good price on Cat5 cable kit?

Whats a good price on a CAT5 cable kit. You know, with about 500ft cable, decent (not plastic) crimping tool, and RJ45 ends? Anyone know of a good deal anywhere?

Good price on 1000 ft. box of stranded enhanced is $50-$55, ends +/- 5 cents ea. and a crimper about $30. I've never seen a kit, just ordered the stuff.

Check Home depot or Lowes. After searching the internet for the best pricing and ordering it I found it for the same price local. I didn't get a crimping tool. I just used the outlet sockets when I wired my house. I've heard it's not worth crimping cables just for linking pc to routers etc.

John Prophet:

I purchased my CAT5e from Home Depot (10 / 15 cents a foot, I'm not sure), a box of RJ45s (several dozen) and a good crimper ($25 - $30). I have not seen a "kit" either.

If you've never crimped RJ45 terminators (or connectors) onto CAT cable before, don't let all the horror stories on the Net freak you out (with all due respect to my bud who posted while I was typing! My wife used 2 RJ45s, first shot, works great! Good luck!
