Despite what TigerDirect wants you to believe, this is not that great of a deal.

First this pricepoint on this TV has been around for a while at Costco (it goes between $1,199.99 and $1,299.99) and the difference is that they include the stand. TigerDirect will also gladly sell you the same stand for and extra $199.99 and $155.45 in shipping and handling charges. So all in all, this $1,199.99 TV is actually going to cost you $1,555.43 when you could have just gone to Costco and paid either $1,199.99 or $1,299.99 plus whatever your local sales tax is.

Also, if you use the Costco American Express Card, you get an extra two years on the warranty.

I know all of this because I shopped around and bought this TV at Costco for $1,199.99, stand included.
