Beware BIG drives from WD!!
Some things are indeed too good to be true...
Needed: Large drive storage for video and audio for corporate Vista dual processor boxes...
Assets: Plenty of hardware, in fact, all brand new.
Found: 750 gb drives that claim to be the best thing since sliced bread...
Reality: 3, count 'em, 3 WD drives bought in succession due to accursed bean-counter lackeys hunting CHEAP solution to BIG problem.
We bought, we saw, we installed. And...
All drives either failed, or ran so dramatically under spec that we were forced to pull them off-line. Within a week. A week.
You get what you pay for. Read that line again. After all, it's your labor, and the endless howling of your superiors that you'll hear ringing in your ears when these shoddy drives get you the kind of scrutiny you don't want in your performance jacket, at that next raise review...
