well i have an amazon login, i dunno if it has a cc on record for me.

if its really FREE, and its an online download, it doesn't seem like there is any need for a credit card. and yes i am in the USA

It appears that you must have a 'Payment Method' attached to the account to d/l. I don't see anything about that in the Terms and conditions, but it works for me.

I just d/l'd two and it didn't ask me for any info, debit card already attached.

It didn't charge me anything. You will also have to d/l and install a 'Amazon mp3 downloaded'.

The files then went straight into my WMP library.

EDIT:
Even though these are free the service also provides mp3 purchases. That may be why you need a 'Payment Method' attached to the account.

I d/l'd an album of greatest hits. First i had to install the Amazon downloader. After that everything was $.89 per song and $6.99 per album.
