Have ya ever seen an old cat? I haven't . It isn't because I haven't seen an old cat, it's because the old cats are just as lively as the young cats....they're just a little crankier

Seems to me that you never see an old cat just flop down on it's pillow, and lift it's old eyes at you as if trying to say...."man, am I tired...God I'm old!"

Seems to me, Cats are like rockets. They zip around like crazy, and when they fuel runs out, they die. Dogs, well....they get old like us. They just kinda slow down, get fat and gray. They go blind, get diabetes and go deaf. Some can't even walk anymore, or have arthritis. Ever see a cat with Arthritis?

I mean, they have the whole feline leukemia thing going, but you just don't see people lifting their old cat into the litter box, or dragging it over to its food.

I think its a shame for dogs, and it's great for cats.

Other than the whole getting kicked thing, guitar strings and hairballs, I think I'd like to be a cat.

I'd like to be one of my cats,spoiled rotten both of them.
I love 'em both dearly. They are both about 8 so indoor cats live to be 20ish they have a long and lazy life ahead of them.

Yep, I think you're right, cats have a whole 'nother dimension going on... they are weird, and precious little critters.

I love dogs too, but....CATS.... man, they sure have their own mojo going on!

Here's a little story...

Years ago, we moved into a house that (ahem) came with a cat....

It was a big ol' gray male, and there was no way to get him to leave (we had our own 2 cats...)

Anyway, he made peace with our two, and since we couldn't get rid of him, we adopted him. Named him "Old Fella". He was one of the most delightful cats I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. As Redfury notes, these characters don't slow down until they die.

This cat knew certain words (esp.: "cheese"....) if you said "cheese", he would get off of your lap and pad over to the 'fridge, and patiently wait for you to catch up, and open it and give him a piece of cheese.

Show me a dog who can manipulate humans as expertly, hmmm?

Our eldest cat, Sammy, is around 13 years old. Now he has to be the funniest cat I have ever seen! In his second kittenhood, (As if he ever left his first!) he picked up a new 'trick'. He will play catch a tail, usually his own. And when he has caught his tail, he will yank so hard, he will lift his butt right off of the floor, landing on his back!

You know what I think it is Knot? It's all that sleep! And cats are smart too....they don't just mope around the house, or wander around aimlessly looking for Master....or hollerin' at the moon.

Nope, them cats are honin' their l33t skillz. Chasin' bugs, reflections, themselves, other cats ( and sometimes dogs ), slinking after a bird or mouse...
Always on the prowl.
Always looking for something to play with and then eat.
Always looking for a way to get you to do something to or for them. Rub me, pet me......now leave me alone! rrrrrAARRR!
