Girl Power - Are you offended?
This article regarding a company that sells T-shirts and other merchandise, lists some peoples concerns with this merchandise.
My sister is also offended by these items, and actually wrote the company to complain.
I personally see no harm in expressing yourself in a way that harms no one, and have no problem with these shirts. If my girls wanted to wear one of the shirts, I would by then one.
I am curious to see what others think about this. |

People get too worked about anything these days. It's not really my taste in humor - not because it makes fun of boys, because it's not sarcastic or cynical enough - but they're amusing anyway.
Maybe we should buy Martoch a few. | |

most of these t-shirts are nonsense about boys. They are pretty offensive, and kind of stating how boys really are. Would you really want to buy one for your daughter?

If this is 'Girl Power' then I find it tragically sad. It's not my taste in humour either, and I find it provocative in the wrong direction.
There are more classy and subtle ways to be provocative and mind opening at the same time.
But the T-Shirts being offered by this company are simply primitive and don't help in furthering 'Girl Power'.
It's as if the maker of the T-Shirts is some woman who has been hurt by men and has now decided to become homosexual and attack man. That's the image I get from such T-Shirts, but as I said, I don't share the humour, that explains why I see it this way.

The question I guess then is DO ANY OF your daughters want to wear them? and DOES your WIFE approve?
Seems like they do espouse violence and I agree with Jarrett when she said :
"If this was on a guy's shirt, and the slogan was reversed, people would be all over it on the basis that it was demeaning and promoted violence against women,"
I dont think we need MORE double standards in this country, we need fewer.
I have no daughters and my wife tells me they are disgusting, and offensive to her. I disagree with the messages and wouldnt let my daughter (nor son) have one.

Stop, please, you're killing me!
These shirts are a joke and obviously aimed a young teenage crowd.
Instead of worrying about a t-shirt being offensive, maybe we should get drugs off the street. Cripes. People look into these things way too much just because they want something to be angry about.

Will some people be offended?... I'm sure they will
Should this be regulated? .... Absolutely not.

I agree with Vern, if this was reversed, it would be attacked by "pro-women" rights campaigners and made as if its a sexist t-shirt, which it obviously wouldn't be.
It's the same with Race, Religion etc, there is no middle-ground.
*Edit
I'm not offended though, but I think there should be an equal share... Look at all the equal rights, you'll notice that they aren't actually equal, but the opposite of what they are fighting.. strange eh? It's predjudice, it's human.

I don't agree with the fashion statement, but its supposed to be lighthearted, so just leave it at that!
