Robin wuz right
Must be all those posts...
Seriously, the Doc did you a favor--you're a young guy and you have 20# hanging off you already??
I see young people like that and it's a shame---because you KNOW it'll only get worse and worse for them.
So getting into an exercise regime is the best thing you could do...plus, you discipline yourself now, and that makes a better chance that you'll KEEP IT UP in the coming years...
Oh, and some fast diet advice--BIG B'fast, small dinner, no snacks after 6. Works like a charm. Good luck! Please notice, I didn't make any saw jokes |

KNothead, thats the best advice I've heard on techIMO in a while (short of mine that is)
YOu're absolutely right about big breakfast (of healthy food - not huge bowl of lucky charms!). No food within 4 hours of bed.
You'll be hungry near bedtime as most people are since they're used to eating late at night (this is EXACTLY what makes people fat), and its gonna suck, but after you do it for a few weeks, you stop being hungry late at night.
And as always, anyone can contact me for info about getting in shape. However, unless you have some experience working out, I'm gonna tell you to buy BODY FOR LIFE by Bill Philips.
And no Jacob, I'm sorry but I cant wish you luck, because luck has nothing to do with it. Losing weight is plain simple hard work. And its not even that hard of work. Is being consistent about it - thats the hard thing to do.
But its like computers. You start doing it, and you just keep going. The next thing you know a few months have gone by and you look back, amazed at the progress you made.

No meals. High fiber snacks every 2 hours. Add lots of beans to the diet. The jet of gas from your butt will keep you in motion. Of course you will lose friends also. Just got back from the Doc. I have a high cholestral problem. This was their advice. Its tough but it can be done if the will is there. I have faith you will do it. |

Exercise, good food including raw vegetables (salad), no red meat , no smoking and you'll live to be a 100.

If you want to loose the weight fast, easy and above all keep it off try this (I used it to lose 40 pounds to get in the Navy)
Breakfast:
2 eggs, any style
2 slices of bacon
1/2 grapefruit or juice
Lunch:
Meat, any style, any amount
Salad, any amount, any type of dressing
1/2 grapefruit or juice
Dinner:
Meat, any style, any amount
Green vegetable, cooked in butter
Salad, any amount, any type of dressing
1/2 grapefruit or juice
You can eat any vegetable except white onions, celery, carrots, potatoes or beets.
You can also have 1 cup of coffee with breakfast. Any pop should be diet and caffiene free.
The key to it is not eating ANY carbohydrates (bread, cake, cookies, pop, or anything that has flour or sugar in it) and eating the half grapefruit with every meal. It really does work, I lost an average of 9 pounds for every week I was on it.
Good luck! I know how hard it can be to lose weight!
