Not exactly poison any more than perhaps caffein or any other drug taken to excess.

Since your portion size will be small the drug will probably not cause you problems. Eating an entire mouse which has been put to sleep would not even give you a buz


americans are so silly about their fear of eating pretty animals.

Generally speaking:

Cow = ugly = ok to eat.
Cat = cute = no eat.
Pig = Very Ugly = Eat
Dog = cute = no eat.

Why can you kill a cow and not a dog for your picnics.

Besides when the dog gets old and sick you should eat it to recoupe your investment

We are very squimish when it comes to the type of food we eat. I could no more eat my dog, than eat my own hand. But when it comes right down to it I see no difference in eating pets as eating livestock beyond how they typically are raised. If the dog/ cat is not raised to be a friend than I can see no reason the chinese should not munch away on old lasie.

Epi, it's more about eating predators than pets. We eat rabbits and lambs, and they are cute too. When was the last time you had fox, owl or weasel?

Well that all depends on the last time you ate at a chinese resturant

I seel little difference between eating predators. (of course there is the problem with accumulation of toxins in predatory being at the top of the food chain. But the family pet is excluded from that.

Predatory animals are also not off of everyones diet.

Tuna, Bigmouth bass, Shark, Bear, Snake and I guess a few others are not completely off the american diet. So there is no hard and fast rule there

I just do not see why we eat one type of animal and not another but for social convention.
